Character from harry-potter-deathly-hallows by
Lion-maned Minister for Magic who tried to use Harry as a propaganda symbol -- died under torture refusing to reveal Harry's location, proving his courage was always real even when his strategy was wrong.
Scrimgeour delivered Dumbledore's will to Harry, Ron, and Hermione at the Burrow -- the Deluminator, the Tales of Beedle the Bard, and the first Snitch Harry ever caught. He tried to withhold the Sword of Gryffindor, claiming it wasn't Dumbledore's to give. He spent his last meeting with Harry trying to recruit him as a Ministry mascot. When the Death Eaters came for the Ministry, Scrimgeour died fighting. Under torture he refused to give up Harry's location. He was flawed -- stubborn, political, unable to see past strategy to the human cost -- but he died with his courage intact. The Ministry fell anyway. His death was announced by Kingsley's Patronus at Bill and Fleur's wedding.
Tawny hair like a lion's mane, keen yellowish eyes behind wire spectacles. Limping gait. Lean, weathered, commanding presence.
