She works through the battle tending to the wounded, and the Great Hall becomes a makeshift hospital where the dead are laid out and the injured are treated. She is a background figure elevated by crisis -- the person who keeps working when the castle is falling apart, because the wounded don't stop needing care just because there's a war on.
