Hogwarts' resident poltergeist -- a force of chaos who, for once, fights on the right side during the Battle of Hogwarts, dropping Snargaluff pods on Death Eaters and cackling the whole time.
Peeves has been a nuisance at Hogwarts for centuries -- throwing things, making rude noises, tormenting students and staff with equal enthusiasm. He answers to no one except the Bloody Baron, and even that submission is grudging. During the Battle of Hogwarts, McGonagall asks Peeves to fight, and for the first time in anyone's memory, he obeys a teacher with genuine enthusiasm. He drops Snargaluff pods and other projectiles on Death Eaters from above, swooping through the corridors like a malicious bomber. After the battle, he composes a rude victory song about Voldemort's defeat. He is chaos on the right side -- proof that even the most disruptive force in Hogwarts will defend the castle when it matters.
A small man with wicked dark eyes and a wide mouth, wearing a jester's outfit with a bell-covered hat. Floats rather than walks. Can become invisible or make himself solid enough to throw objects. Always grinning.
