Luna Lovegood

Character from harry-potter-deathly-hallows by

Ravenclaw dreamer held captive in Malfoy Manor's cellar for months, emerging unbroken because Luna Lovegood has never let the world's cruelty change who she is.

Luna was kidnapped by Death Eaters to punish her father for supporting Harry in The Quibbler. She spent months chained in Malfoy Manor's cellar alongside Ollivander, and she came out the other side exactly the same person she went in. Not hardened, not broken, not changed -- still dreamy, still kind, still telling uncomfortable truths in her matter-of-fact way. Dobby rescued her and she recovered at Shell Cottage. She fought in the Battle of Hogwarts, dueling Bellatrix alongside Hermione and Ginny. She helped Harry find Ravenclaw's diadem by suggesting he talk to the Grey Lady. She can cast a corporeal Patronus under extreme stress. She painted portraits of her five friends on her bedroom ceiling connected by the word 'friends' repeated in gold chain, and this is the detail that makes Harry realize how much she treasures the connections others take for granted.

Appearance

Waist-length dirty-blonde hair, straggly and tangled. Large protuberant silvery eyes with a permanently surprised expression. Wears radish earrings, a Butterbeer cork necklace, and whatever eccentric clothing survives captivity. After Malfoy Manor: thinner, paler, but her eyes are still the same.
