Draco's former muscle -- now a sadistic bully under the Carrows who casts Fiendfyre in the Room of Requirement to kill Harry and accidentally kills himself instead.
Crabbe was always Draco's follower, but under the Carrows' regime at Hogwarts he has become something worse -- someone who enjoys causing pain for its own sake. He has been practicing the Cruciatus Curse on students who earn detention. He no longer follows Draco's lead; the power dynamic has shifted. In the Room of Requirement, when Draco, Crabbe, and Goyle ambush Harry, Crabbe casts Fiendfyre -- cursed fire that takes the shape of serpents and chimeras and cannot be controlled by the caster. He does it against Draco's explicit orders. The fire consumes the Room of Requirement and everything in it, including the Ravenclaw diadem Horcrux. It also consumes Crabbe. He dies screaming in flames he summoned and couldn't stop. His death destroys a Horcrux that the trio didn't know how to destroy. The fire that kills him is one of the few forces powerful enough to damage a soul fragment.
Large, thick-set, with a flat nose and dull expression that conceals a newly discovered appetite for cruelty. Bigger and meaner than he was in earlier years, emboldened by the Carrows' reign at Hogwarts. Moves with the confidence of someone who has learned he can hurt people without consequences.
