A curved, razor-sharp fang from the thousand-year-old Basilisk -- its venom is one of the few substances potent enough to destroy a Horcrux, and Harry uses one to stab through Tom Riddle's diary.
When Harry kills the Basilisk with the Sword of Gryffindor, one of the serpent's fangs breaks off in his arm, poisoning him. Fawkes heals the wound with phoenix tears, but Harry keeps the fang. Facing Tom Riddle and the dying Ginny, Harry drives the Basilisk fang through the diary -- the only weapon available that can destroy the soul fragment within. Black ink pours from the diary like blood. The memory of Tom Riddle screams and dissolves. Ginny wakes up. The remaining Basilisk fangs stay in the Chamber. Years later, Ron and Hermione will return to collect them -- one of the few reliable ways to destroy Horcruxes.
