A wide, mirror-smooth lake at the edge of town where residents swim, fish, boat, and occasionally disappear.
The lake is the town's primary natural feature and a site of regular recreation and irregular catastrophe. Russell sails here. Residents swim here in summer (strongly inadvisable in retrospect). The lake is deep enough that certain things sunk in it have not been recovered, which the residents have collectively and silently agreed not to investigate. The water itself is clean and clear under normal circumstances. The dock is Handy's proudest local construction project, which tells you something about the dock and something about the rest of Handy's work. Fish are plentiful and Russell's presence keeps their population at a manageable level.
A large, placid lake ringed with pine trees and smooth pebble shores. The water is an impossible shade of blue that catches the light beautifully. Russell's boat is moored at a small dock on the north shore. The dock has been repaired more times than its lumber count would suggest possible.
