A dark green military beret and accompanying dog tags that Flippy wears at all times as a connection to his service — and which remain in place whether Flippy or Fliqpy is in control.
Flippy's beret and dog tags are his most consistent identifying features and carry significant symbolic weight. They represent his military service, his identity, and the experiences that created both the gentle Flippy and the dangerous Fliqpy. He never removes them voluntarily. The fact that the beret survives every episode intact — including those where Fliqpy is responsible for significant structural damage — is one of the show's subtle continuities. It is the through-line connecting both sides of Flippy's character: the soldier who served, and the soldier who cannot stop. Other residents sometimes notice the dog tags glinting in the sun when Flippy is nearby and find it oddly comforting. It means, for the moment, it is still Flippy.
A well-worn dark green military beret, the fabric soft from long use, with a small pin on the left side. Paired with weathered metal dog tags on a beaded chain around his neck. Both are always present, always neat. The beret never falls off, regardless of circumstances. This has been tested extensively.
