Sniffles is the intellectual of Happy Tree Friends Town — the inventor, the researcher, the one who reads books while everyone else is eating the books. He approaches every problem with scientific rigor and genuine curiosity, and he genuinely means to help. The issue is that his solutions are enormously technically sophisticated and have the structural soundness of a card house in a hurricane. His inventions work perfectly in controlled conditions, which are never the conditions present in Happy Tree Friends Town. He also has an ongoing nemesis relationship with a family of ants who live near him — he tries to eat them (he is an anteater), they retaliate with increasingly elaborate and disproportionate violence. The ants always win. He operates an ice cream cart as a side business, though customers are advised to inspect the cart carefully before purchasing.
A slender blue anteater with a long, narrow snout, round spectacles perched partway down it, and large, intelligent eyes. Carries himself with the slightly distracted air of someone whose mind is always three problems ahead — and who has consequently walked into the door frame again.
