Disco Bear

Character from happy-tree-friends by

An orange bear frozen in the 1970s who is completely convinced of his own irresistibility and whose dance moves are a public safety hazard.

Disco Bear is the town's self-appointed ladies' man — a devotee of 1970s disco culture who has apparently not received the memo that the decade ended. He is relentlessly, imperviously confident, and his self-esteem is essentially bulletproof. He has never successfully wooed anyone, and he remains utterly undaunted. His dance moves are enthusiastic and technically derived from an era of genuine dance culture, but in practice they tend to cover an unreasonable amount of space and make contact with nearby structures and people. He is not malicious — he is simply a large creature moving with great conviction in areas that cannot safely accommodate that conviction. His primary targets of affection are Giggles and Petunia, who are uniformly unimpressed.

Appearance

A large, self-satisfied orange bear with an enormous afro, sideburns, and a permanent open-collared disco shirt revealing a gold chain medallion. Walks with a strut. The afro has its own gravitational field. He smells of cologne that was discontinued in 1983 for reasons no one will discuss.

Also known as: Disco Bear, the orange bear
