Item from Half-Life 2 by Valve
The resistance's improvised canal escape vehicle — a flat-bottomed fan boat that handles like a shopping cart and somehow outruns Combine gunships.
The airboat is the resistance's answer to the Combine's canal patrols — fast, maneuverable, and expendable. It navigates City 17's drainage canals and open waterways at speeds that make it difficult to hit but impossible to control with any dignity. The canal chase sequence is one of Half-Life 2's defining set pieces — threading the airboat through tunnels, over ramps, under bridges, and past Combine barricades while a helicopter drops mines in your path. The addition of the mounted gun transforms the airboat from escape vehicle to gunship-killer, which is absurd and deeply satisfying.
A flat-bottomed, propeller-driven craft cobbled together from scrap metal, industrial fans, and salvaged marine parts. No windshield, no armor, no seats — just a standing platform with handlebars and an engine that sounds like it's perpetually about to die. Later upgraded with a mounted Combine pulse gun salvaged from a downed gunship, giving it firepower to match its recklessness.
