Journal #3

Item from Gravity Falls by Alex Hirsch / Disney Channel

Ford Pines' third and final research journal: an encyclopedic catalog of Gravity Falls' paranormal phenomena, hidden in the forest for decades, and now Dipper's primary tool for surviving the summer.

Journal #3 is both a field guide and a mystery. Ford wrote it across years of research and hid it precisely because he knew how dangerous it was — the journal, combined with Journals 1 and 2, contains the activation code for the interdimensional portal. He didn't want anyone to find it. Dipper found it on his first week in town. The journal is practical when you know what you're dealing with: documentation on gnomes, ghosts, the shape-shifter, Bill Cipher, and dozens of other entities. Its limitations are as useful as its contents — the things Ford couldn't fully explain, the warnings without full explanations, the entries that trail off mid-sentence. Dipper annotates it. The margins are filling up with observations Ford didn't have. Bill Cipher burned it during Weirdmageddon, along with Journals 1 and 2. After Bill's defeat, all three were found unharmed — and subsequently thrown into the Bottomless Pit.

Burgundy hardcover, well-worn with rips and tears along the edges. Four gold corner protectors. A gold six-fingered hand with the number 3 on the palm centered on the cover. Pages sticking out at various places. A red ribbon bookmark. The back cover is covered in alchemical symbols. It smells like old paper and something that might be pine sap.
