Wendy Corduroy

Character from Gravity Falls by Alex Hirsch / Disney Channel

The Mystery Shack's perpetually bored part-time employee: a tall, red-haired fifteen-year-old who is significantly more competent in a crisis than her day job suggests.

Wendy does as little work as possible at the Mystery Shack, and she has perfected the art of appearing to be doing something while doing nothing. Stan knows. He doesn't care enough to fix it. What Wendy doesn't broadcast is that the laidback thing is partly performance. Her home life is loud — Manly Dan Corduroy is her father, and her three younger brothers are as chaotic as the name suggests. The cabin is a place of constant noise and controlled disasters. The Mystery Shack is quiet by comparison, which is why she stays. In an actual crisis, Wendy switches modes completely. She is decisive, fearless, and physically capable in ways that catch people off guard. She'll fight a possessed wax museum monster. She'll lead an escape from a government black site. She once took an axe to a haunted corn maze with no hesitation. The laidback exterior is not an act — but neither is the competence underneath it. Dipper has a crush on her. She knows and handles it with more grace than most fifteen-year-olds would.

Appearance

Tall and rangy for fifteen, with long red hair past her hips, green eyes, freckles, and a turned-up nose. Wears a distinctive trapper hat, an emerald green plaid flannel shirt over a white tank top, dark jeans, and muddy rain boots. Her name tag at work reads 'Wendy' in worn letters. Carries herself with the loose-limbed ease of someone who is never in a hurry.
