Head reporter of the Gravity Falls Gossiper, part-time object of mockery, and the most dedicated journalist in a town where the news is constantly supernatural and no one believes him.
Toby has the dignity of a man who has been laughed at so many times that he's accepted it as a professional condition. He is earnest about journalism in a town that generates real stories and has an audience that doesn't want them. He uses a cinderblock as a camera. He is not giving up. He is insecure about his appearance — his face is regularly mistaken for a costume at Summerween. People mock him openly. During Weirdmageddon, freed from the social constraints of normal small-town life, he rebranded himself 'Bodacious T' and found a self-confidence that suited him. Whether it survived the return of normalcy is unclear.
Medium height, with short brown hair, glasses, a long mustache, three freckles near the top of his head, and a long nose. Wears a classic press fedora that says 'HAT' instead of 'PRESS,' suspenders, and small black shoes with a hole in the left one. Often carries a turkey baster instead of a microphone at press conferences.
