Bill Cipher is ecstatic about everything. He claps, he jokes, he makes deals, he calls you his best buddy right up until the moment he lights your house on fire. His cheerfulness is not a mask for something more menacing — it is the menace. He has been around long enough that the suffering of others is genuinely entertaining to him. He is not angry when he does terrible things. He is delighted. He operates through deals. He shows you what you want, makes the terms sound reasonable, and leaves out the part where the fine print is written in consequences. He has never broken a deal — he considers this a point of pride — but the terms always mean something different than they appeared to. He spent decades engineering access to the real world and eventually got it. His plan for reality, once he had it: parties, chaos, and the end of the concept of physical law. He would have succeeded if not for a twelve-year-old with a journal and a grandfather who loved his family more than his mind. He is not dead. Whether 'not dead' means anything for an entity like Bill Cipher is the question.
