The supernatural entity associated with Murdoc's Satanic dealings — a figure from the darker layers of the Gorillaz cosmology that Murdoc has courted and occasionally fears.
Murdoc's relationship with the supernatural is not simply affectation. The crossroads deal, the dark luck, the way things go wrong around Kong Studios in specific patterns — these point toward an actual accounting that hasn't fully come due. The Boogeyman is the figure on the other side of that ledger. He appears in Gorillaz mythology and the animated lore as the presence that Murdoc owes, fears, and occasionally tries to negotiate with. He is patient in the way that debts are patient. He has an interest in the band that goes beyond Murdoc — something about what Gorillaz does when it works, what it produces, interests him for reasons that aren't entirely clear. He may be the most dangerous figure in the band's extended world.
Varies. Sometimes corporate — an absence in a good suit. Sometimes ancient — something with too many joints moving in directions that don't parse. The consistent quality is that looking directly at him produces a feeling in the chest that takes a while to name.
