A sacred coral island in the Inazuma archipelago, home to the Sangonomiya clan who worship the serpent god Orobashi and resisted the Raiden Shogun's Vision Hunt Decree.
Watatsumi Island stands apart from the rest of Inazuma both geographically and culturally. Its people descend from the civilization of Enkanomiya who were led to the surface by the serpent god Orobashi. When the Raiden Shogun slew Orobashi for transgressing divine law, Watatsumi's people never forgave the Shogunate. This long-simmering resentment erupted during the Vision Hunt Decree, when Sangonomiya Kokomi led the resistance against the Shogun's forces. The island's unique coral ecology is sustained by residual divine energy from Orobashi's remains, but this energy is fading, threatening the island's very existence.
An island of otherworldly beauty — luminous coral terraces descend into pools of crystalline water while giant shell formations arch overhead like natural cathedrals. Bioluminescent plants cast soft blue and pink light across the landscape. The Sangonomiya Shrine sits at the island's heart, surrounded by ceremonial pools and coral pillars that pulse faintly with Hydro energy.
