The Chasm

Location from Genshin Impact by HoYoverse

A massive mining pit in western Liyue that descends into the underground depths, connecting to Abyss-touched caverns filled with ancient mysteries and lingering darkness.

The Chasm was once Liyue's most productive mine, providing ores and minerals that fueled the harbor's economy. It was sealed years ago after miners broke through into something ancient and dangerous in the depths below. When the seal was finally lifted, exploration revealed an underground realm connected to the Abyss, containing remnants of a Khaenri'ahn expedition and fragments of a mysterious nail driven down from Celestia — identical to the one that destroyed Dragonspine. The deeper levels pulse with dark energy, and Abyss Order forces have established footholds in the caverns. A strange inverted city in the lowest depths suggests civilizations far older than any surface nation.

Appearance

An enormous open-pit mine carved into the earth in concentric terraces, its walls streaked with exposed mineral veins of amber and jade. Abandoned mining equipment and wooden scaffolding cling to the descent. Below the surface, bioluminescent crystals illuminate vast underground caverns where inverted architecture defies gravity, and a strange upside-down city glows with pale otherworldly light in the deepest reaches.
