The destroyed godless nation that once thrived beneath Teyvat without an Archon, annihilated by Celestia five hundred years ago in a cataclysm that scarred every nation and cursed its survivors.
Khaenri'ah was unique among Teyvat's nations — a civilization that flourished underground without any Archon's patronage, advancing through pure human ingenuity to heights of technology that rivaled divine power. Five hundred years ago, Celestia deemed this unacceptable and orchestrated the Cataclysm that destroyed the nation, cursed its people into immortal monsters (the hilichurls), and forced the Seven Archons to participate as executioners. The trauma of this event shattered the Archons' faith in Celestia — the Tsaritsa turned rebel, Zhongli grew weary, and Ei retreated into isolation. Dainsleif, the last Khaenri'ahn knight, wanders Teyvat as an immortal witness to the injustice. The Traveler's twin sibling, having witnessed the Cataclysm, now leads the Abyss Order in a campaign of vengeance against the divine.
Ruins of impossible engineering — vast underground halls of dark metal and mechanical precision, automated soldiers still patrolling corridors designed for a civilization far more technologically advanced than surface Teyvat. Field Tillers, massive war machines, stand dormant among collapsed passageways. What remains is fragmentary, glimpsed only in the deepest underground reaches, half-consumed by the corrosive energy of the Abyss.
