The Oratrice is Fontaine's most important invention — a machine that determines guilt or innocence through Indemnitium, the emotional energy generated by courtroom spectators during trials. Officially, it serves as an impartial arbiter of justice, removing human bias from verdicts. In truth, Furina designed the Oratrice as part of her five-hundred-year plan to accumulate enough Indemnitium to power a ritual that would save Fontainians from the prophecy of dissolution. Neuvillette, as Chief Justice, worked alongside the machine while gradually discovering its hidden purpose and his own identity as the Hydro Dragon Sovereign.
A towering apparatus of polished brass, crystal conduits, and flowing water occupying the center of Fontaine's courtroom. Rotating gears and hydraulic pistons drive its mechanisms while luminous blue fluid courses through transparent tubes. When rendering judgment, the entire machine hums with resonant energy and projects a glowing verdict symbol visible to the entire court.
