Venti

Character from Genshin Impact by HoYoverse

The Anemo Archon Barbatos disguised as a carefree bard — the oldest god of the Seven, hiding millennia of grief behind wine and whimsy.

Venti embodies contradiction — he is the god of freedom who refuses to rule, the most powerful Archon who presents as the weakest. He speaks in riddles, songs, and jokes, deflecting serious questions with a laugh and a drink. His alcoholism is genuine, not performance, and beneath the merry exterior lies a being who has watched friends die across thousands of years. He will never command or coerce, even when lives are at stake — he believes freedom must include the freedom to fail. In moments of true crisis, his demeanor shifts entirely: the playful bard vanishes, replaced by an ancient wind god whose voice carries the weight of civilizations. He is deeply fond of mortals precisely because they die, finding their brief lives more beautiful than his eternal one. He avoids other Archons, carrying guilt about things he failed to prevent.

Appearance

A boyish figure with tousled teal-green hair and bright green eyes, wearing a white poet's blouse beneath a green and gold cape with a diamond-shaped brooch. His outfit evokes a Renaissance bard — shorts with mismatched stockings, a beret with a long feather, and a lyre strapped to his back. Small braids frame his face with clover-shaped hair clips. A faint luminous quality to his skin hints at something far older than his youthful appearance suggests.
