Tartaglia, born Ajax, is the youngest of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers, holding the eleventh seat. Unlike most Harbingers who gained their position through cunning or cruelty, Tartaglia earned his through pure combat prowess and an insatiable love of battle. He fell into the Abyss as a child, where he was trained by the mysterious swordsman Skirk, emerging transformed into a prodigious fighter. He can wield every weapon type and possesses the Foul Legacy Transformation — a devastating Abyssal power that pushes his body beyond its limits. Despite his role as a Fatui Harbinger and his genuine enjoyment of violence, Tartaglia is paradoxically warm and honest. He adores his younger siblings, especially Teucer, and writes them letters sanitizing his Harbinger duties into heroic tales. He clashed with the Traveler in Liyue when he unleashed the ancient god Osial to force the Geo Archon's hand, but maintains a strange rivalry-friendship with them afterward.
