Character from A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin
Massive, red-bearded wildling war chief — loud, loyal, and terrifyingly effective in combat. Jon Snow's closest wildling ally who tells improbable stories about his romantic encounter with a bear.
Tormund is built like a barrel, with a huge red beard, booming laugh, and arms thick enough to wrestle a giant — which he claims to have done, among other feats. He drinks enormous quantities of fermented goat's milk, boasts constantly, and fights with the joyful ferocity of someone who genuinely loves combat. Beneath the bluster he's shrewd, honorable in his own way, and fiercely loyal to those who earn his respect. Jon Snow earned it. Tormund followed him south of the Wall, fought beside him against the dead, and would die for him without hesitation.
A massive, barrel-chested wildling with a great bushy red beard that dominates his weathered face. Bright blue eyes gleam with mirth and menace in equal measure. Wild red hair and a booming laugh. Clad in heavy furs and animal skins over crude leather armor, festooned with bones and trophies, towering over most men.
