Rhaegal

Character from A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin

Green dragon with bronze markings, named for Daenerys's brother Rhaegar Targaryen. Jon Snow rode him into battle, confirming his Targaryen blood. Shot down by Euron Greyjoy's scorpion bolts.

Rhaegal is sleek and powerful, his scales a deep green-gold with bronze highlights that flash in sunlight. Named for Rhaegar Targaryen, he's more temperamental than Drogon but accepted Jon Snow as a rider — one of the strongest proofs that Jon carries the blood of the dragon. He fought bravely in the Battle of Winterfell against the undead Viserion. He was killed by Euron Greyjoy's fleet off Dragonstone, struck by multiple scorpion bolts while flying — a sudden, shocking death that stripped Daenerys of a third of her aerial power.
