Olenna Tyrell

Character from A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin

The Queen of Thorns — a tiny, wrinkled old woman with the sharpest tongue in Westeros. Matriarch of House Tyrell who poisoned King Joffrey and never lost a single verbal sparring match.

Olenna is small, stooped, and ancient, with white hair and a face like a withered apple — and she is more dangerous than any knight in the Seven Kingdoms. She says exactly what she thinks, insults people to their faces, and delights in watching them try to keep up. She poisoned Joffrey at his own wedding and felt nothing but satisfaction. She has no patience for fools, no respect for tradition that doesn't serve her family, and no fear of anyone. Her wit is a weapon and she wields it with decades of practice.

Appearance

A small, withered woman with sharp, bright eyes that miss nothing. White hair pinned beneath elaborate headdresses and veils. Fine-boned face deeply lined with age but animated by a cutting wit. Dresses in rich Tyrell fabrics of green and gold, draped with ropes of pearls and golden roses, carrying herself with the imperious dignity of a woman who has outlived all her rivals.
