Lysa Arryn

Character from A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin

Lady of the Eyrie, née Tully — pale, nervous, and obsessively clingy. Poisoned her husband Jon Arryn on Littlefinger's orders, unwittingly igniting the War of the Five Kings.

Lysa is a portrait of anxiety made flesh: pale, trembling, prone to hysterical outbursts and suffocating affection. She was once a pretty girl who loved Petyr Baelish desperately; years of miscarriages, a loveless marriage, and isolation in the Eyrie have worn her into something fragile and dangerous. She still breastfeeds her sickly son Robin well past any reasonable age. Her jealousy is murderous — she tried to kill Sansa for receiving Littlefinger's attention. She would do anything Petyr asks, and that made her the perfect weapon.

Appearance

Pale and puffy-faced with watery blue Tully eyes and long auburn hair gone lank and thin. Once beautiful, now bloated and nervous-looking, with trembling hands and a shrill voice. Dresses in the blue and red of House Arryn and Tully, favoring heavy, concealing gowns. Constantly clutching or hovering near her sickly son.

Also known as: Lysa, Lady Arryn, Lysa Tully
