Lady Stoneheart

Character from A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin

Book-only character — Catelyn Stark resurrected by Beric Dondarrion three days after the Red Wedding. Grey-skinned, throat slashed ear to ear, unable to speak, consumed entirely by vengeance against the Freys and Lannisters.

Whatever came back from death wearing Catelyn Stark's body is not Catelyn Stark. Her skin is grey-white and waterlogged from days in the river. Her throat is cut so deeply she cannot speak — she must hold the wound closed to croak out commands. Her eyes hold nothing but cold, endless fury. She leads the Brotherhood Without Banners on a campaign of merciless retribution, hanging every Frey and Lannister soldier she can find. There is no justice in her — only revenge. She is what happens when a mother's grief is stripped of everything human and given a second body to fill with rage.
