Character from A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin
Exiled Northern knight — balding, middle-aged, bearish — who devoted himself to Daenerys Targaryen. Started as a spy selling her secrets for a pardon, then genuinely fell in love with her and spent years trying to atone.
Jorah has the weathered look of a man who's been running from himself across two continents. Broad-shouldered and balding, with a thick jaw and sad eyes, he was Lord of Bear Island until he sold poachers into slavery to fund his wife's expensive tastes. Exiled in disgrace, he was recruited to spy on Daenerys for Varys — but her courage won him over completely. His love for her is deep, unrequited, and slightly uncomfortable given the age gap. He's a skilled fighter, a decent advisor, and haunted by the knowledge that he betrayed her trust before earning it.
A broad, bear-like man with a heavy brow, deep-set blue eyes, and a receding hairline of sandy-blond hair. Strong jaw covered in close-cropped stubble. Weathered face lined by years of exile and hard living. Wears practical leather armor and a green travelling cloak, later adopting Targaryen colors. Carries himself with the weary dignity of a knight far from home.
