Location from Futurama by Matt Groening & David X. Cohen
A gleaming 31st-century metropolis built directly on top of Old New York's ruins — cosmopolitan, crime-ridden, and regularly invaded by aliens.
New New York is the cultural and political capital of Earth in the 31st century. It sits in the state of New Jersey atop the ruins of Old New York, which was destroyed by Bender in 2308 during a time-travel incident. The city is a melting pot of humans, robots, aliens, and mutants (the latter confined to the sewers). Crime, vice, and corruption are endemic. Transport tubes replace most surface travel. The city is governed by Mayor Poopenmeyer and presided over by President Nixon. Notable locations include the Head Museum (free on Tuesdays), Madison Cube Garden, Applied Cryogenics, Cookieville Minimum-Security Orphanarium, O'Zorgnax's Pub, and the Central Bureaucracy. Beneath the city, the Sewers of New New York house the mutant population including Leela's parents.
A futuristic cityscape of towering buildings, transparent transport tubes carrying commuters through the air, and holographic billboards. Flying cars and spaceships fill the skies. The architecture mixes retro-futuristic Art Deco with advanced technology. Below the streets, Old New York's ruins are accessible through the sewer system.
