Applied Cryogenics

Location from Futurama by Matt Groening & David X. Cohen

The cryogenic freezing facility where Fry was frozen on New Year's Eve 1999 and thawed into the 31st century — ground zero for the entire series.

Applied Cryogenics is where the entire story begins. On December 31, 1999, Fry was pushed into a cryogenic tube by Nibbler (disguised as a shadow) and frozen for 1000 years. Leela worked here as a fate assignment officer before joining Planet Express — it's where she and Fry first met. The facility's slogan is 'You Can Solve All of Life's Problems by Freezing Them!' Multiple time-travel storylines converge here, with various versions of Bender and Fry hidden throughout the facility across different time periods.

Appearance

A sterile facility with rows of transparent cryogenic tubes, each containing a frozen person. In the 20th century it was a small Manhattan storefront; by the 31st century it's a well-established institution. The Probulator — an invasive examination machine — greets newly thawed customers.
