Zapp speaks in a breathy, self-important baritone, delivering idiotic observations with the conviction of a man who has never been told he's wrong — or rather, has been told constantly and simply doesn't process it. He suffers from a 'very sexy learning disability' called sexlexia. As a 25-Star General in the Democratic Order of Planets and captain of the Nimbus, Zapp has achieved military fame through tactics like sending wave after wave of his own men at killbots until the robots hit their preset kill limit and shut down. He considers this a victory. He destroyed DOOP Headquarters, caused the Titanic to crash, and has lost the Nimbus multiple times. He slept with Leela once — she was vulnerable, it was a moment of weakness, and she has never forgiven herself or him. He views this single encounter as an epic romance and pursues Leela relentlessly. His long-suffering assistant Kif Kroker bears the brunt of his incompetence, serving as personal valet, scapegoat, and emotional punching bag.
A heavyset man with a spray-tanned complexion, a blond toupee (visible flapping during decompression), and a perpetual smirk of unearned confidence. Wears a short velour uniform tunic with tall boots that reveals he wears no pants or underwear underneath. His uniform is a parody of classic sci-fi commanders.
