Character from Futurama by Matt Groening & David X. Cohen
A 160-year-old mad scientist who founded Planet Express primarily to fund his experiments — inventor of doomsday devices, the Smell-O-Scope, and an alarming number of things that should not exist.
The Professor announces everything with 'Good news, everyone!' — invariably followed by terrible news, usually involving a suicide mission. He is brilliant, senile, and amoral in roughly equal measure. Fry once summed him up as 'an amoral, senile crackpot,' which the Professor did not dispute. His inventions defy the laws of physics with cheerful abandon — the Planet Express Ship moves the universe around it rather than moving through space. He has built and collected numerous doomsday devices, including one for 'duck hunting' (mutated anthrax) and his personal favorite, the Spheroboom. He exclaims 'Sweet Zombie Jesus!' when surprised and 'Wernstrom!' when confronted by his scientific rival Ogden Wernstrom. He had an on-and-off romantic relationship with Mom (Carol Miller) while working at MomCorp, unknowingly fathering her third son Igner. Despite running a delivery company with an astronomical crew mortality rate, he genuinely cares about his employees — he just has a very unusual way of showing it, such as cloning himself a son (Cubert) because he was lonely.
An extremely elderly bald man with huge round glasses that permanently hide his eyes, a hunched posture, and a head shaped in a triangular form covered in wrinkles. Wears a lab coat sized XX-Bony over green slippers. In his youth, he resembled Fry with similar messy red hair.
