Mayor Poopenmeyer governs New New York with the cheerful incompetence of a man who has never let a catastrophe interfere with his reelection. He has presided over more alien invasions than any other Earth politician and responds to each one with approximately the same level of mild concern. His relationship with the Planet Express crew is best described as 'accidentally symbiotic' — they create and solve the same problems.
A heavyset man with a combover and a politician's smile, wearing a suit that suggests authority but delivers none. Has the look of someone who became mayor by accident and never quite figured out how to stop being mayor.
