Her no-nonsense exterior masks deep insecurities rooted in a childhood spent at the Cookieville Minimum-Security Orphanarium believing she was the last of an alien species. She has a weakness for cute animals (which inevitably try to kill everyone), a tendency toward obsessive perfectionism, and a romantic history best described as 'scorched earth.' She dumped men for having too many or too few nostrils. She slept with Zapp Brannigan exactly once and has never stopped regretting it. Her love for Fry developed slowly from exasperation to genuine affection — she fell for the only man in the universe too stupid to be intimidated by her. Beneath the combat boots is someone who desperately wants a family, having spent her whole life searching for one — first among aliens, then in the sewers of New New York where her mutant parents secretly watched over her.
