A desert region in eastern Amestris whose people were systematically exterminated in a genocidal civil war engineered by the Homunculi to create a blood crest for Father's circle.

Appearance

Arid desert terrain with sun-baked clay buildings, now largely reduced to rubble and ruins. The few surviving structures bear the scars of military bombardment and alchemical destruction. Refugee camps dot the outskirts.

• The Ishval Civil War was triggered by Envy disguised as an Amestrian soldier shooting an Ishvalan child
• State Alchemists including Mustang, Kimblee, and Armstrong were deployed as human weapons during the extermination
• The genocide served as one of the five blood crests needed to activate Father's nationwide transmutation circle
