• His real name is unknown — 'Scar' refers to the X-shaped mark across his forehead, and he abandoned his identity along with his faith in mercy
• His right arm bears a deconstruction tattoo from his brother, allowing him to destroy anything he touches by deconstructing its molecular bonds
• Later gains a reconstruction tattoo on his left arm, completing the alchemical cycle his brother designed by combining Amestrian alchemy and Xingese alkahestry
• A survivor of the Ishval Civil War in which the Amestrian military systematically exterminated his people using State Alchemists
• Hunted and killed multiple State Alchemists in a campaign of vengeance before gradually shifting toward protecting others
• Played a critical role in countering Father's nationwide transmutation circle by activating the reverse circle with Ishvalan alkahestry
