Pompay hosts one of the great Rite ceremonies — the event where Chosen mortals are 'Ascended' in a ritual that the faithful believe brings them closer to the gods. In truth, the Rite is a feeding, the Chosen drained to sustain the Ascended's immortality. The city decorates for the occasion with flowers and banners while its most cherished citizens are led to slaughter.
A midsized Solis city that transforms during the Rite — draped in white and gold, temples lit with candles, streets filled with processions. Festive and horrifying in equal measure.
