She joins Lilac and Carol after a chance encounter and almost immediately decides they are her family now. Her optimism is not naivety — she has clearly known hardship — but a genuine, hard-won choice to find the good in things. In a story full of difficult choices and dark turns, Milla's presence is both the group's conscience and its unexpected wild card.
