Stor Gendibal

Character from Foundation by Isaac Asimov

A young, ambitious Speaker of the Second Foundation — brilliant, arrogant, and certain he understands the Plan better than his elders, which may actually be true.

Gendibal is the Second Foundation's enfant terrible — a mentalist of extraordinary ability who chafes under institutional caution. He detects anomalies in the Plan that his superiors dismiss, particularly evidence that a third force (Gaia) may be manipulating events. He is brilliant and knows it, which makes him insufferable to colleagues and indispensable to the narrative. His ambition is genuine but so is his commitment to the Plan.

Appearance

Young, sharp-featured, with intense dark eyes and the lean build of someone who forgets to eat when thinking. Deliberately plain clothing. Expressions shifting rapidly — impatience, calculation, brilliance crossing his face like weather.

Also known as: Stor Gendibal, Gendibal, Speaker Gendibal
