Character from Foundation by Isaac Asimov
A Foundation intelligence officer emotionally converted by the Mule — he serves his conqueror with genuine loyalty he knows was implanted, unable to resist and unable to forget he should want to.
Pritcher is the Mule's most tragic victim — a capable officer transformed into a willing servant. He knows he's been converted, can analyze his own loyalty and recognize it as artificial, but knowing changes nothing. He serves the Mule with the same competence he once used against him. He hunts the Second Foundation because the Mule tells him to, and he does it well.
Military bearing, weathered face, compact build. Graying hair, hard eyes that have seen too much. After conversion, something smoothed-out about his expressions — the natural resistance filed away.
