The outdoor court where Wilt practices every day — and the site of the game that cost him everything.
The basketball court is Wilt's sanctuary. He plays every day, one-armed, with the muscle memory of a friend designed to be the perfect basketball player. The court is also the backdrop for the most important moment in Wilt's history — the game against Foul Larry that cost him his arm and eye. When Wilt is on this court, he's doing the thing he was literally made to do. The irony is that the game that broke him was also a game of basketball.
A well-maintained outdoor basketball court on Foster's grounds, visible from Mr. Herriman's office window. The hoops are regulation height, the court lines are freshly painted, and one side has bleachers for spectators. Wilt has worn smooth spots on the court from decades of practice with one arm.
