The toy box was left on Foster's doorstep with no note and no explanation. Inside is an entire dimension — World's creation, a vast landscape of toys and wonders built by a lonely imaginary friend who had nothing but time and imagination. The chains weren't keeping World in; they were a family's way of forgetting him. Opening the box is a portal to his world, and once inside, leaving requires World's permission — or the courage to challenge a reality-shaping being who's terrified of being alone again.
