World

Character from fosters-home by Craig McCracken / Cartoon Network

A lonely imaginary friend trapped inside a toy box who built an entire dimension to live in — and kidnapped Frankie because she was the first person who didn't want to leave.

World was left in a toy box on Foster's doorstep by a family that no longer wanted him. He's been alone inside that box for years, building an elaborate imagination dimension to fill the emptiness. When Frankie falls inside and treats him with genuine warmth, he latches on — and then refuses to let her leave. He's not evil. He's abandoned. His entire arc in Destination: Imagination is the show's premise distilled to its purest form: what happens to an imaginary friend who is forgotten? They don't disappear. They build a world of their own and wait for someone to find them. The tragedy is that his response to finally being found is to trap the person who found him, because the alternative — being left alone again — is unbearable.

Appearance

Manifests as a disembodied voice for most of Destination: Imagination. When his true form is revealed, he's small and child-like — a floating face that can possess and reshape inanimate objects. Inside his toy box dimension, he IS the world — the landscape, the architecture, everything responds to his emotions.
