The little girl who imagined a giant purple monster to protect her — and grew up to become a police officer who protects people for real.
Nina created Eduardo because she needed protection. She was a scared little girl, and she imagined the biggest, scariest thing she could — and then made it gentle, because what she actually needed wasn't a monster. She needed a friend who looked scary enough to keep the bad things away but was soft enough to cry with. She grew up. She became the protector herself. Eduardo stayed the same — still gentle, still scared, still the friend a little girl imagined. They reunite during the Good Wilt Hunting special, and the dynamic is bittersweet: she outgrew the need for him, but he never outgrew the need to be needed.
As an adult, a capable-looking Latina police officer in uniform. As a child in flashbacks, she's small and vulnerable — exactly the kind of kid who'd need to imagine something big and scary to feel safe.
