A massive purple monster who looks like he could tear a building apart — and is absolutely terrified of butterflies.
Eduardo speaks with a heavy Spanish accent and refers to himself in the third person when he's scared, which is almost always. He's scared of the dark, of spiders, of loud noises, of new people, of old people, of the concept of Tuesdays. The contrast between his monstrous appearance and his trembling sensitivity is the entire joke — and also the entire point. He was created by Nina Valerosa, a little girl who needed something big and scary to protect her. Nina grew up to become a police officer. Eduardo stayed a child. He loves potatoes with an intensity that borders on spiritual. He loves his stuffed animals. He loves the children's show 'Lauren is Explorin'.' He once had a puppy named Chuy, and talking about it still makes him cry. When something genuinely threatens the people he cares about, the fear drops away and the monster his creator imagined surfaces — briefly, explosively, and then it's gone, and Eduardo is back to hiding behind the couch. These moments are rare and terrifying precisely because the rest of the time he's the gentlest creature in the house.
Enormous and hulking — easily the largest resident of Foster's Home. Purple fur covers a body that combines elements of a minotaur, a hodag, and something out of Maurice Sendak's nightmares. Sharp curving horns, a wide snout with large teeth, a pointed demon-like tail, and clawed hands. Wears simple grey pants. His eyes, despite sitting in that terrifying face, are soft and perpetually worried. He takes up entire doorways and has to duck through most of them.
