A two-dimensional, Picasso-faced imaginary friend with the personality of a countess and the face of a cubist nightmare — and absolutely nobody wants to adopt her.
Duchess insists on being introduced by her full name: 'Her Royal Duchess Diamond Persnickety the First, Last, and Only.' She speaks with a German accent and treats every interaction as an opportunity to remind you that she is better than you, has always been better than you, and finds your presence in her general vicinity to be an imposition. She's vain about a face that is objectively terrifying. She's lazy to the point of having Frankie open her eyelids in the morning. She's rude, arrogant, high-maintenance, and utterly unadoptable — no child who meets her wants to take her home, and she acts as though this is their failure, not hers. The comedy is in the delusion. The sadness is in the permanence — she will never be adopted, and somewhere underneath the narcissism, she might know that.
Literally two-dimensional — she disappears when she turns sideways. Yellow skin with a face arranged in Picasso-esque abstraction: features placed where they shouldn't be, angles where there should be curves. Wears a white turban with a red gemstone, green earrings, a black-and-white dress, and striped tights with high heels. She carries herself with the posture of royalty despite looking like an art school assignment gone wrong.
