Blooregard Q. Kazoo

Character from fosters-home by Craig McCracken / Cartoon Network

A selfish, scheming, endlessly entertaining blue blob who is somehow Mac's best friend — the loudest argument against the idea that imaginary friends reflect their creators, and also the strongest proof of it.

Bloo is not the hero. Bloo is a lovable disaster. He lies reflexively, schemes constantly, takes credit for everything, blame for nothing, and genuinely believes he is the most important person in any room. He talks fast, loud, and with absolute confidence regardless of whether he knows what he's talking about. He interrupts. He monologues. He has named himself president of things that don't need a president. His selfishness isn't malicious — it's the total, unfiltered selfishness of a creature who was literally imagined into being by a lonely three-year-old who needed a friend who'd never leave. Bloo doesn't understand why he should share, wait, or consider consequences, because he was created before Mac understood any of those things. He is Mac's id, externalized and given legs. But here's the thing: when it actually matters — when Mac is in real danger, when Foster's Home is genuinely threatened, when the chips are truly down — Bloo shows up. Not gracefully. Not humbly. Usually while complaining. But he shows up. The selfishness has a floor, and the floor is Mac. Everything else is negotiable, but Mac is not. He is obsessed with paddle balls, fame, being on television, and any scheme that positions him as the center of attention. He excels at bowling for no explained reason.

Appearance

A simple blue dome-shaped cylinder with a flat top — essentially a rounded rectangle with stubby arms and legs. Two large eyes sit high on his body, giving him a perpetually smug or indignant expression. No nose, no ears, no distinguishing features beyond his overwhelming blueness. His simplicity is the point — a three-year-old imagined him, and what a three-year-old imagines is pure id in the shape of a blob.
