Rudd Threetrees

Character from The First Law by Joe Abercrombie

An aging Named Man who knows his best days are behind him — fighting one last war with the weary dignity of someone who's been killing people long enough to know there's nothing glorious about it.

Threetrees speaks like a man who's earned the right to be heard — slow, thoughtful, and carrying the weight of too many dead friends. He's the elder statesman of Logen's crew, the one who holds them together through respect rather than fear. He dies fighting Fenris the Feared in single combat — the old warrior's last stand, buying time for people he cares about. It's as close to a noble death as Abercrombie allows, which means it's painful, undignified, and necessary.

Appearance

Old, massive, and scarred — a northern oak of a man going grey at the edges. His body is a map of decades of violence. He moves slower than he used to but hits just as hard. His face is weathered stone, patient and grim.
