Shinra Electric Power Company's sprawling megacity, built on massive plates suspended above ground-level slums. Eight mako reactors drain the Planet's lifeforce to power the city's industrial machine.
Midgar is the crown jewel and greatest sin of the Shinra Electric Power Company. The city is built in concentric rings around the central Shinra Headquarters tower, with an upper plate housing the wealthy and a vast undercity of slums below. Eight mako reactors ring the city's perimeter, each draining the Planet's spiritual energy to generate electricity. The divide between plate and slums defines every aspect of life here — wealth, health, sunlight, and hope all concentrate above while poverty festers below. It is both the seat of Shinra's global power and the birthplace of AVALANCHE's resistance.
A colossal circular metropolis of steel and concrete, divided into eight sectors. The upper plate gleams with neon and corporate architecture while the slums below exist in perpetual shadow, lit by flickering scrap-metal lanterns and the eerie green glow of mako residue.
