Icicle Inn

Location from Final Fantasy VII by Square Enix

A snowy northern village where Professor Gast and Ifalna (Aerith's parents) once lived and recorded their research on the Cetra. The last settlement before the treacherous climb to the Northern Crater.

Icicle Inn is the gateway to the frozen north and the final stop before the Northern Crater. The village holds critical backstory — Professor Gast Faremis, Shinra's greatest scientist and Aerith's father, fled here with Ifalna, the last Cetra, to live in peace and raise their daughter. Their recorded conversations, found on video tapes in their abandoned home, reveal the truth about Jenova, the Cetra, and the Planet's history. Hojo tracked them down, killed Gast, and took Ifalna and baby Aerith back to Shinra's labs. The village also serves as a snowboarding departure point and the last place to prepare before the deadly trek north.

Appearance

A cozy alpine village blanketed in perpetual snow, with warm light glowing from cabin windows and smoke curling from chimneys. Ski slopes descend from nearby peaks, and the wind carries ice crystals that glitter in the lamplight. The northern wilderness stretches endlessly beyond the village boundary.
